Darmawan & Rekan was founded by Hendra Darmawan and Jim S. Darmawan in August 1995, as the continuation of Darmawan & Rekan, an Indonesian public accounting firm which was founded by Hendra Darmawan in 1958 and was a member of Touche Ross International for fourteen years. Hendra Darmawan was one of the founders of the Indonesian Institute of Accountants (Ikatan Akuntan Indonesia) and was active for many years in this association. Jim S. Darmawan started his public accounting career with Touche Ross & Co., San Fransisco, U.S.A. in 1978. In 1983, he joined Darmawan & Rekan and became a partner in 1987 and eventually became the managing director of S. Darmawan & Rekan. He holds a Master of Business Administration in Accounting from Golden Gate University, San Fransisco, U.S.A. Jim S. Darmawan is also a U.S. Certified Public Accountant and licensed to practice in the State of California, U.S.A.
