Dance Street focuses on fun, fitness & technique. It is important to me that students have fun at my school & feel like they are in a safe environment. We like to create a family atmosphere, respect for students and teachers in kind. Fitness is important to all ages and incorporating dance into a fitness routine develops co-ordination, is a great c... ardio workout and can help maintain a healthy weight. I believe that children and teenagers participating in extra-curricular activities perform better at school, are more focussed and are more confident. Technique is extremely important at dStreet, whilst having fun & being fit are great, technique is what creates safe dance practice, eliminating injuries and making special dancers. Dancers who respect and learn proper technique, have wonderful core body strength, beautiful posture & a knowledge of dance that is hard to match. Dance Street is in its early stages of development but has grown already with a great group of students from Toddlers through to Adults. It is very important to me that we create an environment that is kind and non-judgmental of others across all age groups, which will hopefully translate into people's everyday lives. All of our teachers are fully qualified and have undergone studies and examinations so that we have proper teaching knowledge that is technically correct and importantly, safe.
