See our Classes page for information. We perform regularly in a wide range of venues including gallery walks, festivals, and Dance Gallery's own performance every spring. Dancers who actively attend class and volunteer to produce events are welcome to perform with us. As a part of our mission to bring dance to wider audience, the company has brough... t modern dance to smaller communities such as Deming, Van Zandt, and Friday Harbor. Dance Gallery actively seeks out and retains a rich repertoire of choreography from internationally renowned choreographers providing an interesting attraction for other regional venues. Founded in 1991, Dance Gallery is honored to have received the Mayor's Arts Award as well as grants from the Washington State Arts Commission, the Horizons Foundation, the Bossack-Heilbron Charitable Foundation, and a residency from Centrum. Dance Gallery has been invited to perform at events such as Bumbershoot, First Night Tacoma, 12 Minutes Max, Seattle Fringe Festival, and the Allegro series and at locations around the state and Canada including Seattle, Olympia, Friday Harbor, Orcas Island and Vancouver Island. The company has commissioned over 50 new works by regional, national and international choreographers. Dance Gallery's repertory includes six pieces by Seattle choreographer Wade Madsen and four pieces by nationally known choreographer Bill Evans. In addition, the group has premiered works from former company members of internationally known dance companies such as the Jose Limon and Ralph Lemon companies, and from faculty of Cornish College of the Arts, Mills College and Washington, Oregon, Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico state universities.
