Dan Blough Construction

In only a few short years, Dan Blough Construction, Inc., dealing primarily in commercial and high-end residential construction, has become one of the most respected and successful construction companies in the Santa Maria Valley. Dan Blough Construction was established in 1979, but partners Dan Blough and Tim Seifert had already crafted long and s... uccessful careers in real estate, development and construction before combing their talents. Dan literally grew up in the business, and Tim began working construction while still in high school. Dan's father, Harry Blough, was a licensed general contractor in Sacramento. From the age of seven, Dan accompanied Harry on weekends and during the summer as he worked on his projects. His first job was sweeping, clean up and stacking lumber. After moving to Santa Maria in 1974, Dan worked a short time for Sawyer Building Materials and MHC Trucking until 1977 when he became the real estate broker for the tract known as Country Club Gardens. When that tract was completed, Terry Flatley and Dan began building spec houses in Morro Estates. They ended up building a number of homes throughout Santa Maria Valley, including two large subdivisions, before dissolving the partnership. Harry Blough moved to Santa Maria in 1988 to work as his son's construction superintendent and became a partner in Dan Blough Construction, Inc. In 2001, Tim Seifert became superintendent and soon became a partner in the company. Dan, a licensed Real Estate Broker, obtained his license in 1971. He then became a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) in 1980 and consulted with many commercial clients. In 1985, Dan and his wife, Peggy, joined Coldwell Banker Real Estate and became a franchisee, eventually growing the company to more than 240 agents and employees with eight offices in Fresno, Clovis, Oakhurst and the Central Coast of California.
