DCS provides a rich array of creative and athletic activities in the curriculum at all levels in the school. Students are encouraged to be involved in many activities while keeping academics as their first priority. After-school activities are offered to students in grades 1 through 12. In our Elementary school we have organized an after school act... ivities program where a variety of activities are offered throughout the school year. Teachers and members of the community offer programs after the school day until 4:00 pm in grades 1 through 5. We expose students to a wide range of fun and exciting activities allowing them to choose what they like to do most in four sessions per year. We also have a system of "House Events" throughout the year. The elementary school is divided into six "House" teams across grade levels; each team represented by a color. House events range from academic to athletic events in which points are earned for the "House" teams. In our secondary school we have a strong athletic/activities program where the emphasis is on full student participation. As a member of the Eastern Mediterranean Activities Conference (EMAC) and the International School Activities Conference (ISAC) we participate in highly organized events throughout the Middle East. We offer a wide range of athletic and non-athletic events for our students. The activities range from basketball, soccer, and volleyball to academic games, leadership and fine arts. Students from middle school can compete on the Junior Varsity while those in high school can compete on the Varsity. At the upper elementary, middle and high school, student council is an important part of student's lives at DCS. From planning fun social activities such as dances and sports nights to consultations with the school administration on student concerns, the student councils are actively involved in the school at both levels.
