The Sheriffs Office is located in the heart of the Wet Mountain Valley, sitting at an elevation of 7,800 feet in Westcliffe Colorado. We are a modern, professional Law Enforcement Agency that is well equipped and subscribes to the highest... of ethical and professional standards. The Sheriffs Office consists of 11 sworn patrol personnel, 6 Detention Deputies serving a 12 bed Detention Facility, 3 Non-Sworn professional staff and 20 volunteer Posse Members. The Office places a strong emphasis on Community Relations and involvement. Community Service and Community Policing are performed through strong relationships with the community and friends we live and work beside. We provide the citizens of Custer County, in partnership with our communities, effective and efficient public safety services with Professionalism, Accountability, Integrity, Respect, and Character.
