Hiring a practice management company allows physicians to maintain ownership and ultimate control of their practice while avoiding the daily burden of managing the practice themselves. Put simply, the doctors are able to return to practicing medicine and CMS is able to do the rest. Unlike many other companies offering similar services, CMS has real experience operating a physician practice of its own. CMS' first startup was Current Dermatology, a dermatology office established for Dr. Current Custer, the wife of CMS' Principal. This experience taught CMS the importance of all facets of a practice startup and a viewpoint to practice startup that many other companies cannot offer. Quite simply, doing it for yourself always imparts a different perspective than doing something for someone else (without your own assets and reputation on the line!).
