Cubby Control Records

Cubby Control Records (CCR) is a record label located in San Francisco, CA. CCR founder and sole proprietor Brian Weaver has been self-releasing music in San Francisco since 1997, first as Poopdeck Pappy, then via the Embryo Compilations, next with the Cubby Creatures (who sometimes released their music in conjunction with the legendary Rodent Reco... rds label), and most recently with REPTIEL and The Cubby Preachers. CCR was formed to bring all this music and any future releases under one umbrella. Cubby Control Records is an offshoot of The Cubby, a collective of folks who have, since 1997, created all kinds of art in the name of, what they referred to as, The Cubby. Therefore, The Cubby was the collective and the mythical entity they created to inspire themselves to create. There was, and is, The Cubby Creatures band, The Cubby Missalette zine, the CubbyVision cable TV show, the Cubby Bible, the cubby.net Web site, the World of the Cubby area on the Cubby Web site, and now, Cubby Control Records. So even though the Cubby collective has been self-producing music all along, Cubby Control Records exists as a more formal medium through which the Cubby Creatures, Cubby Preachers, Cubby friends, and selected artists can release music and sounds and narrations or anything else that suits our fancies. Brian cites beloved cat Trouble (RIP, but who lives on forever in the upper right cubby of these Web pages), and Santa Muerte (a.k.a. the Black Virgin, featured in the lower left cubby) as his muses.
