The Council has been advertising properties through its choice based lettings scheme for over 13 years. Following feedback from our customers we have improved the way applicants on the housing register can bid for available properties and we have made every effort to ensure that is easy to use. If you are on the housing register you can log into your own personal housing register account and update your details avoiding the need to visit the town hall. As a guide you can also see your position for properties you have bid on. However, this may change throughout the bidding cycle as other applicants may also place bids on the same property at different times. This include applicants with a vulneraiblity who have asked the Council to place bids on their behalf. This is an automated process and these bids are added at the end of each bidding cycle (usually at the end of the day). You can bid any time, day or night by using this website until the end of the bidding cycle. Please note your queue position may change for some properties as bids are placed by other applicants. Our website also provides detailed information on which properties were let and to which applicant by date and priority banding. By providing this information it will help you get a clearer idea of the likely wait time for council and housing association properties. The demand for social housing far exceeds the supply.
