Having served CR & FC as a player, as an office bearer & as a GC member in various capacities in the past, I consider it a great honour and a privilege to be elected as the President C.R. & .F. C. I wish to convey my special thanks to my predecessor and close friend, Jehan, for nominating me for placing your confidence in me. The club has come a lo... ng way, especially during the past few years, which have been a hard grind. The financial turn around last year has been phenomenal and we must congratulate everyone for rallying round the club and making it happen. Let us give a round of applause to ourselves for achieving this. But, we need to achieve success in other areas as well. I will mainly focus on five other areas that will take CR & FC forward. My main goal is to bring the League Championship Cup, which has eluded us for nine long years back to CR. Ladies & Gentlemen, I will do my utmost to ensure that CR wins the league title this year. My next goal is to reach out to the entire membership to make CR a friendly, "happening" family club. It is sad that out of a membership of close to 900, only about 250 members visit the club & use the facilities. Let us all get together & draw those old stalwarts of the club, back to the club. I intend to organise more member's nights as well as other events to promote this. I aim to complete work on the Sports Complex by end of April. Once the Swimming, Badminton, Archery & Tennis gets going it will help in our membership drive as well. My vision is to make CR & FC a topflight club and the best professional rugby-playing venue in SL. This involves - upgrading the current facilities in the new pavilion, the restaurant & lounge area will be made more comfortable with access to 5 star cuisine and entertainment. The washrooms too will be upgraded. I wish to landscape the lawn and entrance area. It is extremely important to maintain our Rugby ground in a good condition.
