About CPS Calgary
The Calgary Power and Sail Squadron, one of two hundred and seventy squadrons of the Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons is Calgary's centre for recreational boating training. The Calgary Squadron, a volunteer organization, is a provider of the Transport Canada / NASBLA Pleasure Craft Operator Card as an introductory seminar. After that, the CPS offers a plethora of courses aimed primarily at the serious day sailor and extended cruising sailors. The CPS has courses for both sailing and power boating. Our courses include basic boating, tide and current tables, charting, seamanship, celestial & GPS navigation, marine maintenance, RADAR, depth sounders, electronic charting, and the Marine VHF Radio Operator Certificate. We also have monthly socials from September through May, which are open to the public and free of charge to attend, held downtown at the Mewata Armoury.
