Tim Scoggins founded the Counseling Connection, Inc. (CCI) in Knoxville, Tennessee in 2009 and the National College Counseling Center (NCCC) in Pensacola, Florida in 2000, yet his experience as a higher education administrator spans more than a a quarter of a century, back to 1989. He understands the value that education brings to adult learners in... the workforce: He served as a firefighter and paramedic for a major municipality for many years before entering the military. Tim enlisted in the Air Force and later inter-service transferred to the Army to become an Warrant Officer aviator. Years later, the opportunity arose to transfer to the USCG as a Commissioned Officer, where he served as a search and rescue pilot. He served as an Educational Services Officer (ESO) on USCG bases in San Francisco and Kodiak, Alaska from 1989 through 1993, having completed the Navy's Pacific Fleet ESO Course. Then, he was selected by Admiral Loy to serve as the Service Chief of Voluntary Education for the entire USCG from 1993 through 1998, retiring as a Lieutenant Commander in 1999 to start the NCCC.
