Councilman Bobby Henon

Councilman Bobby Henon (6th District) was recognized by the Center for Families and Relationships Thursday night. The Councilman received The Dan Gottlieb Humanitarian Award, which has been presented yearly to a person making a difference in their community through caring and community service. "The CFAR approach of focusing on the whole family is... so important," Councilman Henon said. "My own upbringing wasn't without struggles, but I was still one of the lucky ones. CFAR helps to heal the wounds of kids and families who maybe weren't so lucky and help them become whole, and part of a complete community." After concluding his remarks, the Councilman asked that those in attendance take a moment to "close your eyes and think of how we can change lives for the better when we walk out these doors tonight." Councilman Henon received the honors during an event celebrating the Northeast Philadelphia-based family counseling group's 20th anniversary. Previous Dan Gottlieb Humanitarian Award winners have included District Attorney Seth Williams and Sister Mary Scullion of Project HOME. "Bobby Henon has been a great friend to CFAR," said Jordan Urban, the group's executive director. "He's always been there for us when we needed him."
