Our factory is located in the Southern part of India where Mother Nature provides the worlds best coconut and plenty of fresh water for washing the coir. Our strict standards are applied at the very beginning of the process with our highly skilled staff examining the raw material in a quality-controlled laboratory, and contains throughout the manufacturing process to ensure excellence in all of our products. At Cosmic Connections employing women has always been a priority. We understand the importance of hiring female workers and what that means for our business and for our community. In India, the male-female labor participation ratio is on the lower end compared to global averages. The first step is to empower women and increase their opportunities for better education and skill-enhancement at all levels. At Cosmic Connections, women make up a large part of our work force and are extremely important to our business. Cosmic coco coir products, which are used all over the world, contain the highest quality materials available thanks to a stringent process that ensures optimal physical and chemical properties. This growing medium comes from the coconut's fibrous husk ("coir") that is bound together by lignin ("pith"). The husks are immersed in water for six weeks, after which the fiber is mechanically extracted. The remaining pith, naturally rich in nutrients because it comes from the fruit of the plant, is stored in piles to age.
