Cortez Management Corporation (CMC) was created to improve our customers' outcomes or reduce their operating costs. Since 1991, CMC's management experience has proven that public/private partnerships can successfully reinvent services, cost share through cooperation, and create comparative data to improve quality and results. Our R&D depth provides... alternative methods for delivering enhanced services while saving money. For example, we consolidated the purchasing power of 16 school systems to achieve an 8% - 27% reduction in cost of goods. In addition, we saved a Virginia school system 22% in fleet maintenance cost while increasing the garage hours by 50%. In May 1998, we initiated a "Focus Group" of Virginia Superintendents to develop a new approach to teaching math. In January 1999, we implemented the new math pilot with 500 middle and high school Algebra students. ur SOL results improved scores 20% to 350%.
