Founded in 1996, Coronado Industries is a publicly traded medical engineering company: (stock symbol: NASD BB: CNDO). Elevated intraocular pressure is often associated with primary open angle glaucoma, pigmentary glaucoma and ocular hypertension, which can lead to vision loss and eventually blindness. The company not only holds patents on the PNT equipment and the PNT Suction Ring, but also a method patent on the medical procedure itself, one of the last such patents issued in the United States. Because of our strong worldwide patent position, any doctor or company wishing to treat glaucoma or ocular hypertension utilizing suction would require permission under Coronado Industries' method patent, thus ensuring the company a very strong market position. The PNT device is approved within the European Economic Community as a 2a medical device which allows for the sale of the product in all 25-member countries. The company has initiated marketing, distribution and sale of its device, via a distributor network, in Italy, Spain, Portugal, France and Poland and are in advance discussions covering additional territories. They recently executed an agreement covering the Peoples Republic of China and are in various stages of discussions covering distribution rights in additional territories where their CE mark can be leveraged to expedite regulatory approval.
