Cora Barclay Centre

The Cora Barclay Centre provides Auditory-Verbal Therapy to families with children from birth to 5 years of age. Services are provided to children with a range of hearing losses; unilateral, bilateral, sensori-neural and permanent conductive. Children wear a range of hearing devices including hearing aids, bone conduction aids and cochlear implants... . Families collaborate with a Listening and Spoken Language Specialist (LSLS) to develop a program to best meet the needs of the family and the child. The program is designed to teach the child to understand the sounds the brain is receiving through the hearing technology and as listening develops speech can begin to be taught. Families are offered a wide range of programs so that they can choose those that best suit their needs, these include group and individual sessions.
