Controlled Sites, LLC was founded in 2003 by David R. Hawk, a professional with many years of experience in erosion control and environmental management. When he observed companies facing expensive fines because crews were unaware of the stormwater regulations they must follow, he saw the need for a company focused on stormwater inspection and comp... liance. Dave has a wealth of knowledge about stormwater and erosion control requirements. For 23 years, he worked as a superintendent and then as a project manager for a natural gas pipeline business in the North, where he first became familiar with erosion control regulations. Because the company performed work for several public utilities, they worked under close scrutiny and were required to conduct inspections and submit regular reports. After relocating to the Carolinas, Dave worked with an environmental company and a grading company installing and maintaining required erosion control measures. It was there that he witnessed the difficulty many companies face in meeting stormwater and erosion control standards. Dave founded Controlled Sites in 2003 to assist companies in their efforts to comply with local, state and federal regulations.
