Constellation

We are bound by our belief in the strengths of people to come together and co-create a common vision, address their own challenges, act and adapt. The ultimate goal of the Constellation is to "connect local responses around the world". Our hope is for the Constellation to grow into a self-supported and self-energised network where members connect,... continuously learn from action and adapt our approach. In support of our hope, we also recognise the value of having an organisation (The Constellation ASBL, Belgian non-profit founded in 2005) that works on bringing more visibility to the network and the approach. This is the work currently carried out by the Global Support Team with the help of many active members the world over. Some of these active members are individuals, and others are part of groups, which we like to call "support teams". Individuals and communities think and act for and by themselves. Change is only real when it springs from within. Which is why the facilitators and coaches of our network stimulate individuals and communities to take action through an approach (SALT) that appreciates strengths and fosters local ownership. In order to achieve ownership, people walk through a rigorous action-learning cycle called the Community Life Competence Process (CLCP). The name Constellation comes from the following image: communities that mobilise their own strengths to carry a local response are like stars in the sky.
