We prefer to work on relational databases and Microsoft SQL Server is by far the most popular. This derivative of Sybase SQL Server is one of the best databases for small to medium size applications in the industry. A cost effective solution, it provides a standard SQL interface, supports full text searching and even OLAP structures. Oracle, DB2, mySQL, even MS Access are fine too but offer tradeoffs in either cost or capability. These SQL databases provide a consistent approach to storing and retrieving data and work well within the ConsenCIS framework. They have proven effective for large amounts of data and large numbers of simultaneous users.
