Connell & Andersen LLP was formed in 2011 by Bill Connell and Roy Andersen, two New York lawyers with significant international banking practices, who desired the flexibility to design their practices around the needs of their clients. Before forming Connell & Andersen, Roy had been a partner at two major New York City firms, Rogers & Wells (now Cl... ifford Chance) and Winston & Strawn and the General Counsel at two international banks, Fortis Bank and the Bank of Ireland. In 1983, Bill moved from being the International Group Counsel for Irving Trust Company to establishing his own practice dedicated to the international banking community in the U.S. and abroad. He established the Connell & Taylor and Connell & Wiener law firms and presently advises 35 banks worldwide on loan transactions and regulatory issues. Today, Connell & Andersen has four attorneys who dedicate their practices to representing lenders in corporate finance, asset-based finance, commodity finance, and other lending transactions, as well as advising financial institutions on regulatory, compliance, and legal risk matters. The complexity of the transactions in which we are involved varies from straightforward, unsecured loans to deal structures involving multiple tiers of senior and subordinated debt and third party intercreditor arrangements. Our clients include domestic and foreign banks, hedge funds, and other financial institutions. We also represent institutions in derivatives transactions and distressed debt trades. Our regulatory practice involves ongoing representation of domestic and international banks with offices in New York, as well as holding companies and foreign bank parent organizations.
