Connect Outreach, a 501(c3) Texas Corporation, was founded on the idea of helping those in need. Ever since our organization was established, we have endeavored to provide help where the need is greatest. We advocate for those who need our help. Even a little help goes a long way. Connect Outreach an experienced disaster relief ministry that formed... in the aftermath of Hurricane Ike in 2008 in Galveston Texas. Since our conception we have accomplished meeting needs of families and entire communities by providing; over 500,000 hours of service, coordinating over 12,000 volunteers, and assisting in the repair of 8 churches, 5 schools, 3 community parks and hundreds of homes. We strive to impact the lives of people at a time when they need love and encouragement most. Serving vulnerable and at-risk populations affected by disaster is our passion. While the initial damage and trauma of natural disasters will impact any population regardless of socio-economic factors, the financial burden of recovery and rebuilding has dramatic and long-lasting repercussions on many rural and urban populations lacking proper insurance and public and private resources. In times of disasters, the elderly and low-income families experience struggles at a higher rate for recovery in most populations. The majority of families we serve do not have insurance to protect their property from disaster. An American Progress report noted that the most extreme weather events typically harmed counties with household incomes below the U.S. median annual income of $51,941. Investing in the lives of families is the best way to rebuild a community. Compassion for our fellow-man in distress has an overwhelming pull on our human nature. We serve because we love people and want to bring Hope, Love and Encouragement to them. We give out of our abundance both time and money.
