About Comstrand
Comstrand was founded by Bob Van Den Berg in 1969. Primary initial focus was on semiconductors, passives, and electromechanical lines. In the 80's and 90's, Comstrand grew to 24 people, mostly degreed engineers, and reached 50 million in sales in the 21st century with a significant portion going to the medical companies such as Medtronic, and Boston Scientific. Major lines included Vishay, AVX, RCA, AMI, Hitachi, Samsung, and many other lines from Silicon Valley. He sold Comstrand in 2006 and then bought it back in 2011. Comstrand is still located in the Comstrand Building, which was built in 1992. The administrative staff, equipment, and infrastructure are all in place. He hired a well know former AVX regional manager as president. He and Bob intend to grow the sales by adding new lines and salesmen, and possibly buying up other rep companies.Explore more
