We work to develop and promote good practice to make domestic abuse legally, socially, morally and culturally unacceptable. Compassion is a small charity that has worked for 14 years to promote awareness and understanding about all aspects of domestic violence and abuse nationally and locally. Compassion was founded in 2001. As an independent, mult... i-agency forum we worked, alongside other forums, to raise awareness of domestic violence and abuse related issues. e have recently received charity status and are currently Sainsbury's, Sudbury, local charity of the year . It has always been important, to us, to develop local resources for those who have experienced domestic abuse as well as influence policy and agency response within our local area. With these aims in mind, we bring new support initiatives through our local services and work with the County Domestic Abuse Forum, informing policy decisions related to domestic abuse within Suffolk. Compassion owes everything to the work of its volunteers who have given their time freely, to Chair the Forum meetings, deliver programmes and run the support services.
