Community Support Services

Community Support Services is a local private support service that was established in 1995, we specialise in supporting people with learning and physical disabilities. At the moment we support people in a number of different houses throughout Calderdale which range from one person living alone to five people sharing together. All our support staff... are trained to a high standard; we employ both male and female support workers, all of whom are contracted. This means that in areas of personal care, dignity and respect is always maintained. All our staff are police checked and have a comprehensive induction before beginning work. We like to actively include our tenants when making recruitment choices. The support we provide ranges from a few hours per week to twenty four hours per day including sleepovers. The support may be provided to help people with finances, personal care, accessing education or leisure activities, looking after their homes with things like cleaning and cooking, paying bills and making sure people are safe and their houses secure. We understand how important it is for people to have consistency in their lives. If people already have an established support team or worker who they really like then we are happy to consider offering the support worker a position with us at Community Support Services. At Community Support Services we endeavour to never use agency staff. We can do this as we have the flexibility of a large staff team to call on to cover holiday and sickness if they occur.
