Community Concern of WNY Acquires Hamburg Counseling Services Inc. Derby, NY - 10/16/2017 - Community Concern of WNY announces that it is acquiring Hamburg Counseling Services to ensure increased access to much needed mental health services in Southern Erie County. An Erie County analysis shows that between 45% and 92% of the population in Southern... Erie County have unmet mental health needs. Three foundations are supporting this acquisition because of the demonstrated need for increased access to mental health services and their confidence in Community Concern. The Peter and Elizabeth C. Tower Foundation and the Ralph Wilson Foundation awarded $129,440 to support the acquisition and the Health Foundation for Western and Central New York awarded $55,560 to support the expanded services offered by Community Concern. Under Community Concerns guidance, the Hamburg site will expand the scope and scale of evidence-based behavioral health services, stated Jerry Bartone, Chief Executive Officer. The acquisition will expand adolescent behavioral health services, offer a growing menu of services to vulnerable seniors and their caregivers, and provide fully integrated care coordination services to Medicaid recipients through its Health Home in Hamburg. Dale Stanley, the Hamburg Counseling Services Board president, stated that his Board believes Community Concerns acquisition will preserve the agencys mission, provide continuity of treatment for existing clients, diversify services, and ensure an ongoing engagement with the Village and Town of Hamburg.
