Many students and their families have a hard time accessing and navigating the maze of public and private services. There may be ample resources in a community, but rarely is there someone on the ground who is able to connect these resources with the schools and students that need them most. Our school-based Program Managers bring community resourc... es into schools to empower success for all students by removing barriers for students at risk of dropping out, keeping kids in schools and on the path to graduation and leveraging evidence, relationships and local resources to drive results. At Communities In Schools, we work directly inside schools to spot and overcome the roadblocks in our students way. We start by collaborating with school districts and schools to understand student and community needs, and we deliver resources tailored to each school community. We go beyond the classroom to work with local businesses, social service agencies, healthcare providers and volunteers, to give every student the confidence to overcome lifes future roadblocks and own their success. We empower young people to set and meet goals, provide parent engagement and support, and help every child meet their full potential. By helping our most vulnerable students stay in school and succeed in life, we are building stronger, healthier and more economically stable communities where every person is capable of reaching their greatest potential.
