She is qualified and experienced in Aboriginal and Historical archaeology and Cultural Heritage Management, including Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal (Historic) archaeological survey, significance assessment and the provision of management recommendations; preparation of Conservation Management Plans and Statements of Heritage Impact. She has taught at James Cook University, Canberra University, UTS Kuringai Campus and within the TAFE system. Jillian has developed and taught specific university courses for Aboriginal students in archaeology. Jillian was previously Heritage Advisor to Bourke, Cobar, Parkes, Lachlan and Cowra Shire Councils and Wollongong City Council. Jillian is a past member of Marrickville City Council's Heritage Promotions Committee and a member of Waverley City Council's Heritage Review Panel. She is a past member of the Heritage Office's Archaeological Advisory panel. Jillian is a qualified and experienced Mediator and Arbitrator. She coaches Mediation and Arbitration with the Australian Commercial Disputes Centre and The Institute of Arbitrators and Mediators Australia.
