Who is Collaborative Structures
Collaborative Structures Limited is committed to the health and safety of its employees and all personnel working on CSL jobsites. To support thiscommitment, CSL has developed an in-depth health and safety program to maintain a safe and healthy environment for all our employees, owners, management, and subcontractors. CSL has a full time Safety Manager who provides multiple functions all related to safety. Our Safety Manager is a safety program developer, safety teacher, safety trainer and certifier, safety auditor, safety policeman and investigator. CSL continuously improves and updates its health and safety policies with current industry requirements. Our Safety Manager leads this initiative providing suggestions to her direct report, the President. If our Safety Manager finds safety infractions, she takes the time to show how those activities are in conflict with the act and how the activity can be completed safely. She also regularly hosts tailgate meetings and factors into our superintendent training sessions. Our Safety Manager monitors health and safety legislation, certification and training requirements and opportunities, and advises our workforce on all required training for WHIMIS, working at heights, fall protection and many workplace activities such as chain saw use, propane, etc. She also regularly visits our sites to produce a report that is sent to the Site Superintendent, Project Manager, and President. While on site, should she observe a safety infraction she issues a written warning to the tradesmen involved. Each tradesman may receive two written warnings. Upon the third, they will be automatically rejected from the site. Should we receive an order to comply or a stop work order, our Safety Manager investigates the situation and assists in correcting the order. After her investigation, she offers input into whether punishment or reprimanding is in order. Our safety program works. This is evidenced by our CAD 7 and safety record.
