Colectivo is a New Orleans based firm pursuing a link between creative professional practice, academic research, and active community engagement. We are a collective of creative, design-based thinkers who try to bring a bit of fun and social consciousness to projects ranging from architecture to ecology and from furniture design to film. Thinking b... roadly about design has allowed us to take on variety of work scales; our smallest projects begin with design/build crafting of tools, furniture, and small buildings- and scale up to campus and regional scales, such as the plan for a Sustainable Houma Nation covering a 7 Parish area in southeast Louisiana or a study of migratory bird flight paths paired with a system of hides for birders in New Orleans City Park. Beyond more traditional design we have also supported the development of new educational symposia and consulted with universities looking to expand the social impact of their schools of architecture and planning. Our team includes two licensed architects, and other designers, thinkers, doers, and makers.
