Welcome to the Cocoa Cottage Bed and Breakfast in Whitehall Michigan! The Cocoa Cottage Bed and Breakfast is our dreams come true! Larrys vision was to own a bed and breakfast. Lisas dream was to have a big, old, house near Lake Michigan. We invested almost 10 years lovingly restoring our 1912 Arts and Crafts bungalow. We researched the style and p... eriod of our home. We talked to local residents to learn about the history of this wonderful property. All this was done before the age of Google searches, instantaneous results on how to repair almost anything and ordering period specific hardware and having it shipped to your door. The letters written to Old House Journal, the anxious waiting for their replies was, well a little like waiting for Christmas morning! Years of patience, hard work and a lot of elbow grease have all paid off as we love living here in Whitehall in our amazing home. We wanted it to be authentic, but not stuffy. To honor the Arts and Crafts period style and its philosophies, but also honor us and our guests. After more than a decade of being innkeepers, we believe we have found that magical balance of work and fun. The world comes to our door and our welcome mat is always out! Nestled in the quaint community of Whitehall-Montague, we are located just minutes from Lake Michigans white sand beaches, 1 block up the hill from miles of paved bike trail, walking distance to quaint shops, lake-view restaurants, a micro brewery and just across the street from the Historic Playhouse at White Lake.
