CoastalVision provides marine environmental technical support to government agencies, commercial firms and public interest groups. CoastalVision has established projects compiling data and performing assessments for coastal management in New England and west coast waters. CoastalVision partners with SeaPlan, Germano & Associates, TerraStat, Loon En... vironmental, Exa Data and Mapping, HydroAnalysis and CR Environmental to provide a wide range of expert support on environmental issues. Our experience in providing technical information in a form accessible to all decision-makers has led to project approval for sustainable development, restoration of habitats, and management of coastal resources. CoastalVision has developed a collaborative business model that relies on small businesses to share resources and workload. This business model has taken two distinct forms: the first form utilizes a pool of small business entities to provide professional collaboration in an informal network sharing staff and resources; the second form has led to the formation of two joint ventures of small businesses to successfully procure Federal small business set-aside contracts worth $17 million. The joint ventures DAMOSVision and WaterVision are each comprised of four small businesses with sufficient capacity and credentials to successfully compete for large Federal contracts. Dr. Drew Carey, the founder of CoastalVision, is widely recognized as a leader in development of solutions for marine environmental assessment. He has led monitoring of dredged material placement activities for over twenty years and has worked directly with states, federal agencies, non-profits and commercial firms on marine assessment across the full range of biological, physical and chemical concerns.
