Coastal CIMT was formed to bring state-of-the-art ArterioVisionTM CIMT ultrasound screening to Tidewater Virginia. Our Vision is to prevent heart attacks and strokes, and our Mission is to identify true risk for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease when primary prevention is most effective: before symptoms develop. A physician referral is not req... uired to schedule a CIMT test. Its important to note that even though CIMT testing is recommended by the American Heart Association as a cost effective diagnostic tool that saves lives, it is not currently covered by Medicare or private insurance.
