Cleveland Elementary School

Cleveland Elementary School is a small public elementary school in the District of Columbia for Pre-K to grade 5. Half of our classes on each grade level participate in a traditional English program. The other half participate in our Dual Language program, where students take half of their classes in English and half in Spanish. Our diverse communi... ty of English and Spanish language learners are nurtured and inspired to strive for excellence and high academic achievement. We believe that the elementary level is where the foundation of our students' future is built. Our mission is to build a foundation to enable each student to successfully compete and stand on his/her own wherever they go. Our building is a warm and nurturing place where students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We recognize that each student is different and has unique talents, abilities and needs. Instruction, therefore, is directed to individual strengths using a variety of learning modalities. As an elementary school, we are responsible, and we do, lay the foundation for each child's life journey. It is here where reading begins. It is here where critical thinking and writing begins.
