Clay Johnson is an award-winning documentary producer, writer and journalist. He currently produces documentaries for Capitol Broadcasting Company, based in Raleigh, North Carolina. His work has been recognized with an Alfred I DuPont Award from the Columbia School of Journalism, a national Sigma Delta Chi Award from the Society of Professional Jou... rnalists and eight Emmy Awards. Clay is also a contributing producer for UNC-TV Public Media North Carolina, a statewide PBS network. After graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in broadcast journalism, Clay began his career in radio news and then worked as a television news reporter and producer at network-affiliated stations in the Carolinas. He was later a gubernatorial deputy press secretary working as a spokesperson, media communication consultant and speechwriter. Clay was also a writer and field producer on two nationally syndicated PBS travel series. He's also produced a wide-variety of award winning videos for select clients through his company Clay Johnson Productions, Inc. He was appointed as an adjunct faculty member at Duke University's Sanford School of Public Policy where he taught a class in television journalism for nine years.
