Attention Parents of Manchester Elementary Summer School Students: Please be advised that students will no longer be permitted outside for PE classes. Wednesdays outdoor activities are cancelled and indoor activities will be planned. These changes are necessary for the safety of students due to numerous individuals going to Hoskins cemetery, which... Manchester Elementary is adjacent to. Several individuals have taken photographs and video of school property and we have received information that an individual will be doing a live feed from the cemetery today. We regret the changes but student safety is our top priority. In accordance with District procedures and records retention guidelines, the following Special Education and 504 records housed at Clay County Public Schools will be destroyed: Special Education Due Process records or 504 records for students who attended any Clay County public school and who were born between January 1, 1992 through December 31, 1998. Parties desiring a copy of his or her records before destruction must contact Missy Roberts, Federal Program Coordinator at 606-598-2168 no later than August 31, 2021. These records will be destroyed in September 2021. An application for early entrance testing must be submitted in writing to the Superintendent/designee prior to June 1 of the proposed entry school year. Within forty-five (45) calendar days, the instructional supervisor will initiate the evaluation process, which will begin with the administration of a Brigance Screener by District personnel. The child must be 5 between August 1 and October 1 of the school year entrance and obtain a total score of 80 or higher on the screener to be considered for early entrance.
