Clark County Corrections Deputy Guild

So what exactly is the Clark County Corrections Deputy Guild? We were formerly called the Clark County Custody Officer's Guild, but changed our name when the Sheriff's Office changed our job title from Custody Officer to Corrections Deputy. We represent the labor interests of the Corrections Deputies. We work the job also, so that our decisions for... the Guild also affect ourselves. What exactly do we do? On a daily basis we accept new inmates to the Clark County Jail, house them according to their classification and keep them separate from any listed enemies they might have. We serve them their meals as well as maintain order and peace as best we can. This can be difficult as our facility design is lacking, and our staffing levels are not optimal to run the jail properly. We also repond to emergencies within the jail such as fights and medical issues. Additionally we investigate when there is evidence of smoking, drug use, or manufacturing homemade alcohol. We issue infractions for rule violations and take privelges away when needed. We transport inmates to court and medical appointments as well as shuttle them to and from other counties. This year the Administration shifted the mission of our Branch to helping the inmates re-enter into the community. Basically we will provide them with information on who can help them be better members of society and reduce their chances as coming back to jail.
