Clarinet Classics

Clarinet Classics, was founded in 1992 to celebrate the rich and diverse repertoire, players and range of instruments that makes up the clarinet family - a label dedicated to the clarinet. It was a natural development that four years later, we were to expand the label to include the saxophone, and the saxophone recordings became an integrated part... of the Clarinet Classics catalogue. While both the clarinet and saxophone sat very happily in the same catalogue, the saxophone deserved its own dedicated label, sitting alongside Clarinet Classics and in 2008 Saxophone Classics was launched. Despite the saxophone being very much a part of my playing life, the label needed a dedicated saxophone specialist and in 2010 Sarah Markham accepted the title of artistic director with my role changing to executive director. The mission of both labels is to release carefully chosen and balanced programmes that entertain, inspire and inform the listener.
