My name is Claire Mastop, formerly Claire Abbott. I am an experienced criminal defence lawyer in Vernon, BC. I run a busy practice, working primarily for clients with funding from the Legal Services Society (Legal Aid). If a potential client does not qualify for Legal Aid, I am generally willing to negotiate a payment plan, so please don't be shy a... bout asking. My primary interest is to help the people who really need it and I firmly believe that everyone charged with a criminal offence is entitled to quality legal representation. I'm not the lawyer who is going to hold hands with your family members. This is a hard time for them for certain, but I am a lawyer, not a therapist, so I focus my time and energy on doing the legal work that it takes to give you the best representation in and out of the courtroom. I spend a lot of time in court defending the interests of my clients, so I can be hard to reach. It is worth your while to keep trying.
