Computers In Our Future is a four-year model program that seeks to strengthen the health of Californians by increasing access to computer technology, training and jobs for young people in low-income communities. Funded by a $6-million grant from The California Wellness Foundation as part of its Work and Health Initiative, Computers In Our Future has awarded grants of $525,000 each to 11 community-based organizations to develop and support community technology centers. Operating in communities from San Diego to the Oregon border, these centers aim to increase access to computer technology, teach marketable skills to local youth and young adults and enhance job placement opportunities.Read More
