A craftsman made belt that I would buy, that my parents would buy, and that my friends would buy. I have been working with leather for years, and have been a consumer of high quality, craftsman quality leather my entire life. I still smile when I think about that great leather smell of my first baseball glove, my mothers new saddle, and my fathers... new dress shoes (and his belts). I produce my belts with the old world handmade quality in today's world. I made the decision to "go pro" in 2010, and for the last several years purchased the professional equipment, acquired the unique and specialized hand tools and located the best sources of leather from US tanneries, and established relationships with the best brass and buckle foundries in order to offer a great finished product. I wanted to make by hand very high quality leather items so I purchased the best leather products from all over the world to see firsthand, to understand and to perfect those methods of the top producers that I admired in order to provide the best leather work AND at a fair price. Then I practiced, a lot. I perfected the details, procedures and the skills before I sold my first belt in 2013. I made a few mistakes, and learned a lot from those early "projects", thus with a bit of luck, a lot of work and lastly from talking to and visiting with over a dozen long-time leather craftsmen here in the U.S. and in England, Churchill Leather was getting ready for business. In February 2013 I received my PHD in leather. I was lucky enough to obtain a spot in what I consider to have been the best leather class that has been offered. I spent a week with John Bianchi, and two of his long-time colleagues refining and learning the details that transformed me into a leather professional. John is arguably the father of the modern leather gun holster and leather gun belts. He and his team generously shared decades of leather experience with me.
