Chubu University

I truly believe that CU, with over 11,000 students and over 1,500 faculty and staff, is a preeminent institution of academic and scholarly excellence. Together, the students, faculty, and staff are fostering community service for the 310,000 people of the city of Kasugai, the 7.5 million people of Aichi Prefecture, the 20 million people of the Chub... u Region (Central Japan), the 130 million people of Japan, and even the 7 billion people across the globe. The history of Chubu University dates back to 1938, when Professor Kohei Miura, the first President of CU, founded a technical institution in Nagoya. Later in 1964 the Chubu Institute of Technology (CIT) was established in the city of Kasugai. Then, in 1984, CIT became a university and changed its name to Chubu University. Recently, Chubu University celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2014. Chubu University, in addition to two high schools (Chubu University Daiichi High School and Chubu University Haruhigaoka High School), and one junior high school (Chubu University Haruhigaoka Junior High School), is governed by Chubu University Educational Corporation, which celebrates its 80th anniversary in 2018. Chubu University has three campuses, including a main campus in Kasugai, one in Nagoya, and another in Ena City, Gifu Prefecture. Chubu University, KasugaiCUKhas seven Colleges: Engineering, Business Administration and Information Science, International Studies, Humanities, Bioscience and Biotechnology, Life and Health Sciences, and Contemporary Education, as well as six Graduate Schools: Engineering, Business Administration and Information Science, Global Humanics, Bioscience and Biotechnology, Life and Health Sciences, and Education.
