ChTPZ Group

CHTPZ is one of the largest steel pipe plants in the former Soviet Union with the ability to produce more than 3,600 types and sizes of hot rolled and cold rolled pipes, both seamless and welded. The Company has a strong position in welded large diameter pipes of up to 1220 mm in diameter and is the only Russian producer of the larger diameter seam... less pipes. Overall, it currently produces 9 of the 15 major types of pipes used in Russia. CHTPZ is located in the city of Chelyabinsk in the Urals, which is the capital of Chelyabinsk Oblast, some 1,400 km east of Moscow and employs 9,331 staff. CHTPZ is the principal entity of the ChTPZ Group (the ,Group,). The Group,s main pipe producing plant was commissioned in 1942 and the Group has since formed or acquired a number of subsidiaries, including the purchase in 2003 of CHZP, Russia,s largest zinc smelter, located in the city of Chelyabinsk. The Groups main activity is the supply of pipes to the Russian oil and gas industry. CHTPZ has an established track record in the international loan markets - the Facility will follow the US$50 mio EBRD A/B loan facility provided in 2002. Almost all of CHTPZ's output now passes very strict quality controls and complies with ISO 9001, American Petroleum Institute (API) and German Deutsches Institut fuer Normung (DIN) 1629 standards.
