Christa Lenko Design

Christa has been practicing design since 1997 under company name Lenko Design but decided to re-brand the consultancy as Christa Lenko Design in Toronto in 2008. In 2011 she re-established her consultancy in western Canada specifically Calgary, Alberta maintaining her Toronto clientele while gaining new clients in Alberta. During her academic study... , Christa had the privilege in participating in week long design charrettes with Gary Andrishak, legendary Advertising Guru for Coca Cola, and with renowned Canadian Industrial Designer Michel Dallaire. She received her Bachelor of Environmental Design (Architecture) from the University of Manitoba in 1997 and received her Masters of Environmental Design (Industrial Design) from the University of Calgary in 2005. Between degrees Christa had the privilege of interning for a year as a Marketing and Production Assistant at Laurie Artiss Limited, at the time the official licensee of souvenir pins for the Nagano Olympic Games and for the Manitoba Pan Am Games. In the production position she learned about domestic and offshore manufacturing, conducting cost analysis and reviewing product sample specifications. In the area of marketing she helped develop standardized marketing packages including promotional brochures, letters and sample boards for Olympic, Pan Am Games clients such as the Bermuda Olympic Association. Christa has exhibited and published her work. She won first prize in 2007 for her poster design for 'Design Matters' for the Toronto Society of Architects & Design Industry Advisory Committee. She was part of the Design Matters exhibition at the Urbanscape Gallery and her design was showcased at the historical Toronto Distillery District for architecture month event 'The Good'. Her participation in other gallery shows include Design Exchange's 'City of Toronto Food Cart Design Exhibition' 2009, 'This Way Up' 2001 (Kasian Gallery) and 'Taking Off' (Architecture II Gallery) 1996.
