Choice Building Supply

The business was started by VT Boyd as Escalante Lumber in downtown Dolores, Colorado. In 1980 the business moved to the outskirts of Dolores and in 1990 made the move to the location that they occupy today in Cortez, Colorado. In 1977, Choice Building Supply became an Ace Hardware dealer. In 1997, VT sold the business to his four children, two of... those children, along with their spouses, remain the owners today. Four generations can often be found serving the customers of the Four Corners area. Choice Building Supply is proud to support the youth of this vibrant community, lending our support to youth baseball and youth football programs, junior rodeo and all the local public school programs and booster clubs, lawn and garden care. We are also happy to help you with special orders for products not found on our shelves. As your local Ace Hardware, our company is a member of the largest retailer-owned hardware cooperative in the industry. Ace Hardware began as a small chain of stores in 1924 and has grown to include more than 4,600 stores in 50 states and more than 70 countries.
