Chief Industries has been providing quality baking products and dependable service to the food service industry and the baking community for over 40 years. Started by a U.S. military veteran named Jim Parris and his wife Pat, Chief Industries began as a small product line of pie pans and was transformed into the thriving family business it is today... . Jim was passionate about the pie pan business because he knew it would succeed even in a bad economy. Having lived through many booms and busts, Jim saw that the keys to happiness were family, friendship and food. "When life hands you lemons, make lemon meringue pie!" Soon after, Jim grew the business into a niche market of gourmet pie pans through his relationship with Don Callender. In 1972, Jim decided to lay the foundation for a multi-generational family-owned and operated business by incorporating Chief Industries and moving operations from Long Beach to Huntington Beach, California. He continued to increase sales by partnering with small start-ups and helping them to become baking superstars and loyal customers. Jim and Pat's oldest son Jeff was groomed from an early age to take the lead. And in the mid 1990's Jeff's passion for pie elevated Chief Industries to a whole new level by creating a complementary whole pie and pie shell business (Harrows). Holding true to the core values he learned in the family business, Jeff insisted Harrows provide quality products and dependable service. These core values combined with Jeff's technical aptitude lead Harrows to grow beyond all expectations. Eventually Jeff sold Harrows to a multi-national conglomerate and invested in growing Chief Industries. Today, Chief Industries is one of the few family-owned and operated manufacturing and distribution businesses in Orange County.
