Why do we only work with schools that are part of the National School Lunch Program? The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) enables schools to serve meals at free and reduced rates to students in need. Because we believe all children - no matter their family's economic standing - should have access to healthy school meals, we have designed our programs to align with the NSLP. Keep in mind that much of the operational information found on The Lunch Box is also relevant to non-NSLP schools and districts. How is The Lunch Box funded? The Lunch Box is funded through partnerships and grants. We partner with other organizations and supporters who also believe in healthy school food, and are always open to new opportunities.
