On June 1st, 1954, Maurice and Pauline Champoux pursued their dream of starting a business together. Their insurance agency, first located in their home on Pine St. in Lewiston, Maine, employed their daughter Diane, who worked part-time while in school. In 1977, she began to work for the agency on a full-time basis. During the first 15 years of ope... ration, Champoux Insurance purchased eight separate agencies and grew their staff to 10 dedicated employees. In 1980, The Rogers Insurance Agency of Lisbon Falls, ME also a family-owned agency became a part of Champoux Insurance. To this day, it is still operated by Brenda Rogers, an original Rogers family member. In 1999, Diane Champoux became President of the company, purchasing another family-owned and -operated business, the Pinkham Insurance Agency of Farmingdale and Lewiston, ME. Peoples Insurance, located in Ogunquit, ME, was created in 2004 to serve York County and other parts of Northern New England. In 2009, the Champoux Group purchased the Chapman Insurance Agency specializing in farm and equine business. The equine division provides coverage countrywide through Peoples Insurance located in Lisbon Falls, Maine. We are one of the largest family-owned agencies in the state of Maine. Specializing in personal, business, life, and agricultural insurance products, we have four locations to serve various communities throughout the state. We are also the preferred insurance provider for the Maine Restaurant Association.
