I am an Operations Researcher and Data Scientist from South Africa. I am trained in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, and have a deep love of problem-solving. I am passionate about advancing science and improving the state of the world. I have keen interests in management science, scientific decision-making, multi-criteria optimisation, sys... tems modelling, simulation, statistical learning, machine learning, and AI. I have always been fascinated by mathematics, science and technology, especially in terms of utilising it to improve human well-being and productivity. I believe that our technological explorations should have a solid foundation of ethics and safety, and that our motives must look beyond short-term goals and desires to consider the long-term welfare and survival of our species. I also believe that humanity has a moral duty to take care of the precious ecosystems and life we share this planet with and depend upon. We should strive to fight entropy, greed and apathy, and leave our world in a better state than we found it. I am guided by these principles in my research and career. I previously worked as the Business Systems Manager at CFW Industries , an industrial fan manufacturing and air technology company in operation since 1966. I was lucky to have been part of the executive team of the CFW Group and experience the challenges of managing a 250+ person manufacturing business in a tough economic climate, as well as the excitement of developing new products and opening new markets. I am now based in the UK, working as a consulting Data Scientist at Peak.ai in Manchester. I work on the development of cutting-edge artificial intelligence solutions for large enterprises, striving to empower their decision-making and achieve optimal business outcomes.
