Cents Ability

We are a group of volunteers dedicated to providing high school students and young adults with the financial tools and knowledge to achieve their life goals. Providing basic finance classes, Cents Ability has partnered with local and national organizations such as New York Cares and Wall Street Volunteers. Started in 2004 by John Moore and Alexa du... Pont, the program is taught in seven 45 minute learning sessions so that even the busiest teens and the volunteers who teach them can manage the commitment. Volunteers working alongside the National Endowment for Financial Education developed the curriculum. Cents Ability obtained its 501(c)3 nonprofit status in May 2004. Since then classes have been taught at The Door, the Union Settlement Association, Monroe Academy, Washington Irving High School, The Chinatown Manpower Project, SCAN La Guardia, Harlem RBI, The Albert G.
